About

Nine years in a warehouse. Still figuring it out.

The story, the beliefs in plain words, and the people who will greet you by name.

The story

Eleven people, a borrowed PA, and a lot of doubts.

Jordan and Alexis Okafor planted Haven in 2017 in a RiNo warehouse that still smelled like the last brewery. They wanted a church for people who were not sure about church. Nine years later the paint is better. The aim is the same.

  • Honest. We say the hard parts out loud. Questions are not a problem to manage.
  • Creative. Artists, baristas, developers, parents — the room looks like the block.
  • Generous and local. Eighteen percent of every gift stays on Walnut Street.

What we believe

Plain words. Open hands.

Non-denominational, historic Christian faith, zero appetite for culture-war slogans. Here is the short version. Ask us the long one.

Ask a real question →

Jesus is the point

Not the building, not the brand, not the pastors. Jesus — fully God, fully human — lived, died and rose so anyone can come home. That is the whole plot.

The Bible is not a prop

We read it out loud, we take it seriously, and we try to live like it is true on a Tuesday. If a passage is hard, we say so.

Grace before the upgrade

You are welcome before you believe anything. Belonging is not a prize for getting your life together. We will not pretend otherwise.

The church is a people

A family of skeptics, kids, artists and tired parents learning to follow Jesus together. If we closed tomorrow, we want Walnut Street to notice.

The story ends well

Jesus comes back. Everything broken gets mended. Until then we practice the future — meals, justice, honesty — in a warehouse in RiNo.

Questions are not a problem

Bring the ones you are not supposed to ask. Midweek is built for them. So is the lobby bar after the 11:30.

The people

They will greet you like a neighbor. Because they are.

Pastors and directors who live in RiNo, Highlands and Five Points. Say hello — they mean it when they ask how you are.
